The establishment of a memorial fund to commemorate the late Dr Harry Earl, who died suddenly in October 2013, was announced at this year’s International Panel Products Symposium (IPPS) Master Class. Dr Earl held a number of senior positions in the industry, was a past member of staff at the BioComposites Centre, and was the Technical Manager for Kronospan, Chirk, UK.

Dr Rob Elias of BioComposites explains: "Harry gave selflessly and was always keen to promote his students and staff into opportunities for advancement, so it is most fitting we should offer a bursary to worthy students in his name".

The fund will be used to support travel and training requests from students and early career colleagues. Rob added: "We are looking for corporate and individual donations, so please get in contact if you would like to contribute to the fund".
