World’s tallest wooden building completed in Norway
The Mjösa Tower has officially opened in Brumunddal, Norway, taking over the title of the world’s tallest wooden building. The 18-floor building reaches up to a height of 85.4m and the building includes a hotel, private homes and office space. Metsä Wood’s fast, light and green Kerto LVL products were used in the intermediate floor elements of the building.
Uniboard announces C$18m plant expansion
Uniboard has announced a C$18m investment to expand and modernise its plant in Mont Laurier, Quebec. The enhancements will include improvements to reduce the plant’s greenhouse gas emissions and increase MDF production capacity.
Truck-receiving systems for Egger’s new mill in North Carolina
Bruks Siwertell, a global leader in bulk handling and wood processing solutions, has announced an agreement to supply two automated truck-receiving and storage systems for Egger Wood Products’ state-of-the-art particleboard manufacturing facility, currently under construction in Linwood, North Carolina. All Bruks’ systems are planned for commissioning towards the end of 2019.
