Thursday, October 30, 2014 Pinnacle Green Resources Ltd (Guyana) plans to begin cultivation of an energy plantation on 5,000 acres of land in the Pomeroon Region 2, Guyana. Pinnacle, which has its headquarters in Singapore, is hoping to cultivate Leucaena leucocephala which is already present in Guyana and known as Jumbie Bean.

EPLF statement on the ECJ decision regarding German requirements for construction products
Tuesday, October 28, 2014 On October 16, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled that through the use of what are known as Bauregellisten (Building Rules lists) the Federal Republic of Germany had impeded market access to Germany for construction products already carrying CE conformity marking. This practice is in breach of EU law.
Japan’s plywood supply down 6.9%
Tuesday, October 28, 2014 Japan’s plywood supply in July 2014 was 520,900m3, 6.9% less than July last year and 3.8% less than June. Production curtailment by domestic plywood mills is the reason of the decrease. Import plywood continued declining under 300,000m3 for two straight months, reports the International Tropical Timber Organization.
China’s plywood market share in US rises
Tuesday, October 28, 2014 US imports of hardwood plywood declined again in July. Imports were 26 5,480m3, down 2% from June. Year-to-date imports were still 9% higher than in July 2013, reports the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO).
China’s plywood exports rise 15%
Tuesday, October 28, 2014 The international demand for Chinese plywood has improved since the beginning of 2014. In the period January to August 2014 China’s plywood exports rose 15% to 7.81 million m3, up around one million m3 from the same period of 2013, reports the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO).
Wood pellet exports from North America to Europe find its peak
Friday, October 24, 2014 Wood pellet shipments from the US and Canada to Europe have gone in opposite directions in 2014, with the shipments from the US South being up 10% from Q4, 2013 to Q2, 2014, and Canadian volumes declining 25% during the same period, according to the North American Wood Fiber Review.
