The European Panel Federation (EPF) has confirmed that Martin Brettenthaler will remain chairman of the EPF while a successor is chosen.

The announcement follows Mr Brettenthaler’s departure from Swiss Krono on January 31.

“The Board is delighted with the leadership and direction that Mr Brettenthaler has brought since becoming chairman of EPF in June 2021,” said the EPF in a press announcement.

“In choosing the next chairman or chairwoman, the EPF managing board will focus on a smooth transition and maintaining the current strategic focus of the association.”

The Board will next meet in late March in Brussels.

In January, Swiss Krono released a statement saying Former Norbord CEO Peter Wijnbergen will replace longstanding Swiss Krono CEO Mr Brettenthaler, after the latter decided to pursue a new career path.

Swiss Krono issued a statement saying that Mr Brettenthaler had notified the company ownership last September that he had decided to pursue a new professional path.

At the owner’s request, he continued to manage the Group’s business until a successor could be put in place.
