Duratex boosts its wood based panel sales

The Brazilian wood based panel manufacturer Duratex delivered a growth in Q2 sales compared with both the previous three months and the same stretch in 2015 after experiencing a slump in previous quarters, reports Euwid Wood Products & Panels.

Total sales edged 9.1% higher in a year-on-year comparison to 613,301m³. This figure had increased 2.0% compared with the Q1’s total of 600,984m³.

The raw board business fared better than laminated board operations. Raw board sales leapt 18.7% compared with Q2 of last year to land at 342,283m³, says Euwid.

This constitutes a 1.5% growth compared with the Q1’s sum of 337,062m³. By contrast, laminated board sales dipped 1.1% in a year-on-year comparison to end up at 271,018m³, but were 2.7% higher than the Q1’s total of 263,922m³.
