The Canadian OSB manufacturer Ainsworth Lumber raised its shipments to its main export market, Japan, by 39% in the 2013 financial year.

It delivered 231.2m sq ft (3/8in basis) or approximately 205,000 m³ to Japan last year.

This increase and price hikes sent Japanese revenues 46% higher to C$55.3m. Deliveries to other overseas markets almost doubled to 44.3m sq ft or almost 40,000m³. Turnover from these markets stood at C$9.6m.

Ainsworth Lumber Co Ltd announced its financial results for Q4 and year ended December 31, 2013. Sales of C$104.4m in Q4 2013 were C$13.5m lower than sales of C$117.9m for the same period in 2012.

The decrease in sales was mainly due to an 18% decrease in realised pricing.
