Small-diameter logs commonly referred to as ‘whips and tops’ will be the target raw material for this project.
Grady Mulbery, vice president of operations for the company said: "We see this as an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to adding value to the raw material source in our area."
In addition to the small-log processor, the project will also include an upgrade to the log merchandising systems. The planning for the project is underway.
