Metafrax is a private Russian company with a turnover of €390m in 2012 and the leading producer of methanol in Russia.
After taking over 50% of Metadynea shares from JV Partner Dynea OY, acquisition of Dynea Austria is a further step in Metafrax strategy to integrate forward into Methanol based products. It also gives Metadynea who is the market leader in the Russian board resin industry, access to the leading particleboard, MDF and OSB resin technology and know-how.
The combined expertise and production units in Russia and Austria can in this way support Metadynea’s leading position in the growth markets of Russia. And Metafrax’s raw-material position will help Dynea Austria to keep/improve its position in Austrian and Central-European markets.
