Spanish plywood manufacturer Garnica will open its new €18.5m poplar veneer factory in France on November 22.

The 50,000m3 dry veneer capacity plant is situated in Samazan in the Garonne region, one of the best poplar regions in southern France. Poplar is the main raw material for Garnica’s plywood boards.

The investment, together with the recent €12.2m extension and modernisation of the group’s Banos de Rio Tobia plant, means the group has increased its annual production capacity from 140,000m3 to more than 200,000m3 of plywood.
