Engineered wood manufacturer Action TESA has commenced operations at its new medium-density fibreboard (MDF) manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The site, located in Rambilli, produced its first board on 11 October 2026.

The 125-acre plant is equipped with advanced manufacturing technology and represents a significant expansion of Action TESA’s production capacity.

The company reports that the new facility is intended to improve access to MDF boards for customers in South and East India.

Action TESA said the site is intended to support the furniture and interiors sector in these regions by improving service levels and regional product availability.

It cites previous activities in South India with MDF and high-density high moisture resistance (HDHMR) boards, noting that it has established a presence with furniture manufacturers and trade professionals.

Action TESA has previously established India’s first thin MDF plant, and reports that it holds a leading position in the country’s panel industry.

It also introduced DOME Technology for its products.

In addition, Action TESA set up a facility for HDF-based laminate wooden flooring and was responsible for the launch of UV-cured high gloss panels in India.

The company has an annual engineered wood production capacity of 750,000m³.
