Xiangsheng Household Material Technology Co Ltd and Siempelkamp have signed a new contract for a “super strength” particleboard line.

The contract represents a second joint project for the companies, with Guangxi Xiangsheng and its import agency Xiamen Jianyida Co Ltd. signing the contract with Siempelkamp.

The plant will have an annual capacity of 600,000m3 and will be installed in the Xiangsheng High-End Green Household Furnishing Industrial Park.

In addition to the signatories of the three participating companies, representatives from politics and other leading personalities also took part in the festive ceremony on March 1.

Xiangsheng ordered its first Siempelkamp particleboard plant in September 2020, with an annual capacity of 300,000m3.

The “Super strength” product to be made on the new line will feature a core layer of the boards with flakes that are twice as long as usual. This is designed to achieve a significantly higher bending strength.

“It is a great honour for us to support Xiangsheng again as a partner and to assist this leading Chinese particleboard producer with our technologies and experience,” said Kosta Karakolidis, CEO of Siempelkamp Qingdao.

“Together we are joining forces in this project to further expand Xiangsheng’s position in China and Southeast Asia.”

The scope of supply comprises the core components and the entire process technology of a wood-based panel plant. This includes the latest generation of knife ring flakers, automated setting and sharpening robots, a knife ring washing cabin, also dryers, drum screens, double stream mills, oscillating screens, blenders, and the forming and press line with the continuous ContiRoll Generation 9i.

The new particleboard plant is scheduled to go into operation in the first quarter of 2025. It will produce customized chipboard in a thickness range from 8 to 40 mm in various specifications and sizes, tailored to market and customer demand.
