Russian wood-based panels manufacturer Uvadrev-Holding has placed an order with Siempelkamp for a new particleboard plant.

The order represents the second time Uvadrev-Holding has procured a plant from Siempelkamp.

Uvadrev will replace an existing particleboard at its Uva location with the new complete particleboard plant. Assembly is scheduled to begin in early 2022.

The line will contain a Generation 9 ContiRoll press in the format 9ft x 32.1m as the core component. The plant is designed for an annual capacity of 500,000m3.

Uvadrev said the investment would expand its production capacity and optimize quality and manufacturing costs.

Board sizes to be produced on the line include 1,830 x 2,750mm as well as 2,070 x 2,800mm, which will be further processed in the furniture industry.

The gluing system is designed to meet the stricter limit for the emission of formaldehyde from wood-based materials, the E05 standard, with dry urea used in the middle layer to reduce formaldehyde levels.

Uvadrev ordered its first particleboard from Siempelkamp (with a production capacity of 300,000m3) in 2012.

“Our first jointly realized plant exceeds the promised performance,” said Sergej Ostanin, project and production manager at Uvadrev.
