US Congressman Mike Rogers has visited Kronospan’s Oxford site in Alabama to hear about the plant and employment opportunities it provides.

Mr Rogers, who represents Alabama’s 3rd Congressional District, met executives at the Eastaboga site, hearing about continued skills training programmes for Alabama workers including FAME and Kronospan’s GenNext program. The benefit of Kronospan’s expansion on timberland owners, loggers, and local and state governments was also discussed.

As part of the conversations, Kronospan emphasized the critical need of support for the import of essential equipment from EU countries currently subject to tariffs.

“Kronospan’s commitment to innovation and community investment is vital for Calhoun County and Alabama’s economy,” said Kronospan North America CEO, Hans Obermaier.

“We’re grateful for Congressman Rogers’ support of Kronospan and US manufacturing.”

The discussions were followed by a guided tour of the expansive 230-acre site, highlighting Kronospan’s state-of-the-art operations in wood-based panel production.
