Uniboard has announced a C$18m investment to expand and modernise its plant in Mont Laurier, Quebec. The enhancements will include improvements to reduce the plant’s greenhouse gas emissions and increase MDF production capacity.

This announcement builds on the success of the recent Microwave project with a seven-million-dollar investment in 2016.
Continuing on the theme of innovation, the new dryer configuration will use the state-of-the art technology and connect with Uniboard’s innovative gas treatment system.
“The upgrade to a new generation dryer will not only allow us to increase productivity but also to further the positioning of our plant as the leader in MDF in North America,” said Sebastien Coté, plant director of Uniboard Mont-Laurier.
