With the intent to replace its outdated particleboard plant, the Russian plant operator Plitspichprom (SOUZ Group) has ordered from Siempelkamp a complete particleboard plant including an 8th generation ContiRoll press

The components for the front-end of the line will be supplied by Pallmann, in which Siempelkamp has a qualified minority interest since April 2012. State-of-the-art plant technology guarantees the customer increased product flexibility and plant reliability as well as noticeably higher efficiency in the highly competitive Russian wood based materials market.

With innovative pressure distribution plates, an extended cylinder bed and many new equipment features, the press will operate virtually isobaric and will manufacture boards with a thickness ranging from 6-40mm in unprecedented quality.

The customer's focus will be on the production of boards with a thickness of 38mm.

This new plant is to replace an outdated multi-daylight particleboard plant of Soviet design at the Balabanovo location in the Kaluga region located approximately100km south of Moscow.

The long-time customer ordered two continuous Siempelkamp lines for its Priosersk production location in the northern part of the country in 1990. Back then the first order for a continuous ContiRoll press for Russia represented a pioneering achievement.
