Part of this process will see SmartPly replace its multi daylight press with a new up-to-date continuous production line.
As a significant volume of the OSB panels can be further processed to tongue-and-groove panels SmartPly is investing in tenoning equipment, supplied by Schwabedissen to replace an existing American production line.

The new double end tenoners are equipped with four processing motors per side. In this way Smartply is able to respond to the market requirements with high quality t&g profiles.

The new machine combination is supplied with approximately 40 servo motors for automatic positioning of all tool positions and the machine itself is controlled by the latest Siemens S7 PLC technology including Intouch Wonderware operator surface.

The machinery is aimed to be up and running this year.

For Schwabedissen the order from SmartPly forms part of five bigger orders for double-end-tenoner combinations to be supplied in 2016. In 2015 Schwabedissen supplied three comparable machinery concepts, among others to Russia and Poland.

All Schwabedissen machines are produced at its production facility in Hertford, Germany and production is characterised by state-of-the art manufacturing in an 9000m2 production hall.
