Italy’s Safwood plans to start OSB production in Russia in February 2012 and is constructing a mill in the Komi Republic, reports Lesprom.
Safwood is investing €125m in the project, of which €52.5m is from its own funds and €72.5m is from loans.
The company expects to reach the mill’s rated OSB production capacity of 376,000m3 by late 2012.
Safwood currently runs two operations in Russia: its Syktyvkarskiy LDK sawmill and the Syktyvkar particleboard mill.
