2K Manufacturing, based in Luton, UK has started full production of EcoSheet, a plywood replacement board made from recycled plastic, reports Materials Handling World Magazine.
The product has been successfully trialed by the UK’s biggest construction companies including Bovis Lend Lease, Apollo Group, ISG Pearce, Morgan Sindall and Wates. Orders totaling more 8,000 sheets have been placed.
2K Manufacturing claims its product costs about the same as plywood and can be used like plywood, but will save the construction industry from placing millions of sheets of plywood into landfill every year.
