A new wood-plastic composite material for industrial and consumer end-uses is being launched by UPM.
The new product, made from virgin wood fibres and clean plastic polymers, is aimed at use in furniture, tableware and other everyday living goods.
Wood fibre makes up 20-60% of the content, depending on the end-use.
The composite can be dyed and moulded like plastic and is delivered to manufacturing customers in granule form.
“Our aim is to find new international partners for our product and increase production with the business, said the company.
There are three grades – G for general use, S for special surfaces and T for technical end-uses such as electronics.
