Masisa will extend its two-year licence option agreement signed in 2012. The firm will evaluate the ‘Tricoya’ acetylated wood chip technology through market and production testing and development of finished products with the launch of its own Masisa Tricoya Super MDF.

If the trials are successful, the deal will grant Masisa exclusive rights to produce and distribute the Tricoya for the Latin American market, excluding Brazil for which sales and marketing will be non-exclusive.

During the evaluation phase, Medite Europe, a TTL development partner and licence holder, will supply the Tricoya product. Medite Tricoya panels are used in applications such as façade cladding, exterior trim, exterior doors and internal wet areas, stated TTL.

"We are constantly seeking exclusive and innovative products…We are very happy with this alliance and certainly, we will surprise our customers in Latin America," commented Alfredo Gili, Masisa’s new product development manager.

TTL is a 50:50 joint venture between the chemical group Ineos and Accsys Technologies.
