At the beginning of Q3 sawnwood, fibreboard and particleboard exports fell away and January 2014 exports of these three products were well below levels a year earlier.
January 2014 wood product exports from Peninsular Malaysia totalled 145,971m3 out of which Port Klang, the closest port to Kuala Lumpur, handled the most at 87,851m3 (60% of all exports).
Kuantan Port handled 9,352m3 cubic; Pasier Gudang 15,770m3; Tanjung Pelepas 10,180m3 and Penang 22,818m3.
