The company plans to invest US$132m on the construction of a new 200,000m3/year MDF board plant at the site of its Durango particleboard mill, install a 100,000m3/year melamine laminating line and expand the site’s resin plant.

The latest scheme is part of a major US$600m investment programme Santiago-based Masisa has announced up to 2015 in three Latin America countries where it operates. These include Chile, Brazil and Mexico.

Masisa, which acquired the wood panel interests of Rexcel in Mexico, has now become the biggest panel maker in the country with a board capacity of 600,000m3/year and resin production facilities.
