Latvijas Finieris opens renovated birch veneer factory in Kohila, Estonia

The new factory will be operated by Kohila Vineer, an Estonian subsidiary of Latvijas Finieris. The total investments to ensure factory operations will reach US$25.61m in a three-year period, requires conversion of Baltic birch resources into valuable products.

The factory was renovated according to the latest technology standards with a view to generate valuable products, save wood and energy resources and ensure work efficiency in line with the best world practice.

Raute, a Finnish company provider of birch plywood production equipment, was involved in project implementation works. The annual production capacity of the renovated factory is 70,000m3 of birch veneer. The renovated factory is expected to employ 70 people.
