Greenply Industries Ltd, manufacturers of plywood, high pressure laminates and decorative veneers, accounts for 25% of plywood and 15% of the laminates market in India.
The company which has grown 40% in the last financial year has six manufacturing facilities across India and exports to more than 25 countries. It has also been awarded various certifications.
Greenply now plans to set up India’s largest MDF plant with a capacity of 180,000m3 at a cost of Rs 250 crore (US$53.3m). This will be India’s first line to incorporate Dieffenbacher’s state-of-the-art CPS continuous pressing technology.
The line will also incorporate Metso’s latest generation EVO refiner, a Steinemann Satos 8 head sanding line (said to be the fist in India) and the Lukki 2 dimensional panel storage system supplied by Dieffenbacher.
The government’s restriction on plywood has resulted in a growing demand for engineered panel products such as MDF and particleboard.
