According to Acimall, the Italian woodworking machinery manufacturers’ association, exports to Germany – Italy’s biggest market – were down 3.1% on 2012.
Sales to the US fell by 7.5%; Austria 0.6%; and Taiwan 0.2%.
China was the only one of Italy’s markets that improved, with sales up 12.6% (€790m) on 2012.
Acimall said the figures show that recovery is not yet established in the wood-processing industries.
