Speakers from around the world will be presenting results of their current research on Fundamental characterisation; Resins and additives; Feedstocks, recycling and waste materials; and Durability.

Key Note paper by Dr Phil Evans, University of British Columbia, Canada will detail the evolution of his work on resin distribution within wood composites.

A further theme will investigate how advancing technology and computer capabilities contributed to an increased understanding of the fundamental interactive processes taking place within composite board production, culminating in the 3D visualisation of wood, adhesive and voids.

This year the BioComposites Centre and Kronospan are launching a new scholarship fund to commemorate the life of Dr Harry Earl who had a successful career in the wood panel sector culminating with the position of technical manager at Kronospan’s mill in Chirk.
