Global demand for plywood is expected to drive growth for newly listed Malaysian plywood manufacturer Focus Lumber Bhd, whose founder believes tremendous market potential is untapped, reports The Borneo Post.

Sabah, Malaysia-based Focus Lumber was listed on the Bursa Malaysia’s main market on April 26. It also manufactures veneer and laminated veneer lumber (LVL).

Managing director and founder Lin Fong Ming said that, for the 2010 financial year, 87.5% of the company’s revenue was from exports, with 95.2% of that from plywood.

Focus Lumber’s main market is the US, the world’s largest plywood market, and last year those exports brought in 55.1% of company revenue.
