A new £3m wood recycling facility will turn old pallets, furniture and other waste timber into wood chip raw material for Egger’s particleboard factory in Barony in the north of England.
The Egger Timberpak facility in Bellshill, which will take waste wood from local authorities, waste-management companies, factories, skip-hire firms and builders, will help Egger secure an alternative supply of raw materials in the face of rising prices and wood shortages.
Recycled wood makes up over 40% of the raw material used in Egger’s particleboard manufacturing.
