The Egger Group has acquired a 65% stake in the Italian edging specialist Kromaplast, as part of its efforts to expand its in-house edging capacity across Europe.
The purchase price and additional transaction terms have not been disclosed.
The transaction closed on 30 September 2026 with Kromaplast becoming part of the EGGER Group.
Based in Cessalto in the Veneto region, Kromaplast partners closely with the Italian furniture industry, providing services including further processing, packaging, cutting to size, and logistics for edging products.
The move follows a recent announcement from EGGER concerning a 30% investment in Chinese edging manufacturer Sinowolf, which holds a significant position in the Asian market.
While the two investments support EGGER’s international growth strategy in edging, they serve different roles.
The Kromaplast acquisition is intended to boost the group’s service level and logistical coverage in Europe, with integration of services across EGGER’s existing plants in Gebze, Turkey, and Brilon, Germany.
EGGER decorative products components division director finance/administration Tobias Neumann said: “With our specialised edging plant in Gebze (TR) and our site in Brilon (DE), we have two edging-producing plants within the EGGER Group.
“In Kromaplast, we have found a partner with whom we can make our edging service even more customer-oriented and flexible in one of Europe’s most important furniture markets. We are very much looking forward to working with the entire team.”
Kromaplast, founded in 1990, has developed its business as a service and logistics provider to the Italian furniture sector.
Its service portfolio is designed for customer needs and includes custom processing, packaging, precision cutting, and delivery of edging products.
