The new chief executive will now continue the group’s growth strategy with capital investments this year totalling R$660m (US$332m).
A major part of this will be devoted to the final launch by September 2013 of its nearly completed 580,000m3/year Siempelkamp MDF line at Itapetininga in São Paulo state.
Duratex has drawn up a blueprint for its latest plans to include the first stage of a major greenfield panels complex in Minas Gerais state, eventually to comprise two big board lines. Later the firm hopes to build a smaller panel plant in Brazil’s growing North East region,
