The line is due to start production of MDF in early 2009.

Duratex also ordered a flash tube dryer from Siempelkamp subsidiary Büttner, and handling, sanding, cut-to-size and packaging through Siempelkamp Handling Systeme (SHS) as well as a short-cycle press line.

Signatories to the contract were: For Duratex, Mario Colombelli Filho and president Paulo Setubal Neto; for Siempelkamp, Dr H C Dieter Siempelkamp and Dr Hans W Fechner.

Duratex, the biggest wood products manufacturer in South America, has been a customer of Siempelkamp since 1952 and today has two Siempelkamp MDF and one particleboard ContiRoll lines.
