Between January and February 2017 export revenue from the entire forestry sector was US$1.3bn down 6% year on year and only the wood based panel sector recorded an increase (US$39m, up 22%).
As a result the trade balance in the forestry sector registered a positive balance of US$1.15bn in the first two months of the year.
Latin American countries continue to be the main destinations for Brazil’s wood based panels.
