SCM Group’s Luigi de Vito has been appointed as president of Acimall, the association of Italian manufacturers of furniture and wood technology.

Mr De Vito’s appointment was approved at Acimall’s online general assembly on July 14, along with the appointment of Marianna Daschini of Greda as vice president. Mr de Vito takes over from outgoing president Lorenzo Primultini.

They will both serve a three-year term of office until 2023.

Mr De Vito is currently wood division director at SCM, in charge of production, product development, sales and after-sales service. He paid tribute to outgoing president Mr Primultini.

“Lorenzo Primultini has been able to guide the association through one of the most difficult times in history, while keeping a focus on the values that a business association must preserve,” he said.

The new president highlighted what the key topics would be in his term of office - promoting open dialogue among the member companies and with other associations; focusing resources on strategic projects (credit access, business development, supply chain initiatives); supporting and developing the brands of member companies, and "creating a favorable environment to exchange excellent models of market strategy, sales and technology trends".
