STEICO, the German-based maker of woodfibre insulation panels and engineered wood products, has named Piotr Dziergas managing director and chief operating officer (COO) under a three-year appointment.
Mr Dziergas succeeds Thorsten Leicht as COO. Mr Leicht was appointed as STEICO’s CEO last month.
Since 2024, Mr Dziergas has managed the company’s largest plant, at Czarnków in Poland. STEICO said significant production-efficiency improvements had been achieved there during his leadership.
Born in 1976, he holds a Master of Science in Engineering Physics and has management experience in several wood-processing companies.
The five-year appointment of Mr Leicht as CEO took effect on 1 September. Aiveen Kearney stepped down as CEO and managing director by mutual agreement on 31 August, but retains her separate administrative board mandate.
Mr Leicht has been in STEICO’s executive management since 2019 and played a key role in operational development, production strategy and international growth.
STEICO’s board said Mr Dziergas’s familiarity with the company and sector experience would contribute to further production-efficiency improvements.
STEICO’s product portfolio includes flexible and rigid wood fibre insulation, wood fibre and cellulose blow-in insulation, laminated veneer lumber, I-joists, building-envelope sealing products and façade plaster components.
STEICO also offers prefabricated components for timber element construction. Its products are suitable for new-build projects and renovations involving roofs, walls, ceilings, floors and façades.
