A major belt dryer installation by IMAL PAL Group at Sonae Arauco’s Beeskow site in Germany has been successfully commissioned.
The commissioning, signed on March 25, is the latest in a line of belt dryer installations by the Italy-based company which specialises in wood-based panels plant production technology.
The belt dryer installed at Sonae Arauco’s Beeskow site has a capacity of 24 tons/hour of evaporated water.
“The supply was 100% turnkey, fully inclusive,” said Loris Zanasi, managing director of IMAL PAL Group.
“After just a few months of installation, and about one month ahead of schedule, the belt dryer was started up and was already operating in full three-shift production the very next day.”
IMAL says the new belt dryer helps Sonae Arauco in several ways:
• Increased drying capacity
• Keeping dust and volatile organic emissions low and within limits
• Elimination of fire risks thanks to low operating temperatures
• Elimination of mechanical wear in the drum and cyclones.
• Reduced energy consumption thanks to the use of low-temperature steam from the turbine outlet, which was previously not utilized
IMAL has supplied approximately 42 belt dryers worldwide over the past 10 years, all achieving an outlet moisture content, the company says, of around 1%, making them suitable for particleboard production plants.
The company recently installed two units in France with an evaporated water capacity of 40 t/h and another two in Turkey with an evaporated water capacity of 43 t/h,
Currently, IMAL is starting to install the first three three-deck belt dryers in North America and has another three belt dryers under construction for other new customers.
