Brazil continues to expand its industry and wood products exports. Comparing April 2014 with April 2013, the following trends were evident:

Total wood product exports (excluding pulp and paper) increased 1.4% to reach US$220m in April.

Pine sawnwood exports increased 35% in value to US$18.9m while tropical sawnwood exports increased 6.9% to 28,000m3.
Pine plywood exports increased 6.6% to 102,200m3. In 2013, Brazilian pine plywood exports totalled 1.16 million m3 where the main markets were Europe (71%) and North America (13%).
