Strong increase of Ecuadorian particleboard exports in first two months of 2018
20 April 2018Ecuadorian exports of particleboard / MDP (medium density particleboard) reached US$16.2m in the first two months of 2018, an increase of 15.5% compared to the same period 2017(US$14m).
Consolidated exports to Colombia and Peru, the main export markets for Ecuador’s particleboard, totalled US$ 15.5m in the first two months of 2018 and represented 95.2% of total exports (2017: 95.9%).
Exports to Colombia reached US$9.96m in the first two months of 2018 (2017: US$9.28m), 7.4% growth, compared to same period 2017.
Exports to Peru also had a strong performance in the first two months of 2018, amounting to US$5.5m, an increase of 31.1% compared to US$4.2m in the first two months of 2017.
Exports to Panama and Bolivia were also up in the first two months of 2018, with increases of 44.4% and 141.7% respectively.
