Siempelkamp gets order from Akij Group, Bangladesh

In March 2014 the Akij Group, Bangladesh, signed a contract for what will be one of the world’s most modern particleboard plants.

Siempelkamp will supply all components ranging from the chipper infeed to the fully automatic sanding and cut-to-size lines including the entire materials-handling technology. All equipment will be manufactured inside the European Union.

Siempelkamp will deliver machinery such as the Generation 8 ContiRoll press, the Ecoresinator blending system for the particleboard core layer as well as the optimized control of the pneumatic conveyors which ensures reduced raw material use and maximum energy efficiency.

Numerous subsidiaries and affiliated companies will contribute to the project: Sicoplan in Belgium is responsible for the plant engineering, the equipment for the front-end of the line is provided by Pallmann located in Zweibrücken, Germany, the finishing line components are manufactured by Siempelkamp in Krefeld, the dryer is supplied by Büttner and the screening and sifting technology is provided by CMC Texpan in Italy.

Starting in 2016, the new Siempelkamp particleboard line will be set to increase the daily production capacity in Bangladesh by another 1,000m3 of particleboard.
