Shipments of particleboard and MDF in US and Canada nearly flat
18 August 2016June shipments of particleboard and MDF in the US and Canada were relatively even at 490 million ft2 (MMSF) compared to 491 MMSF (3/4in basis) a year ago according to a Composite Panel Association’s (CPA) Industry Snapshot Report.
Year-to-date shipments were slightly ahead by 0.15% at 2.803 MMSF over 2.807 MMSF during the first half of 2015.
Particleboard shipments decreased slightly to 299 from 300 MMSF (3/4in basis) in June 2015. Year-to-date shipments for the first six months of the year were down 0.2% over 2015 at 1.691 MMSF.
MDF shipments increased slightly to 192 MMSF (3/4in basis) compared to 191 MMSF the same month one year ago.
