North American January panel shipments ahead of 2017

North American shipments of particleboard and MDF started the year up 5.3% to 488 million ft2 (3/4in basis) compared to 463 million ft2 in January 2017, according to the Composite Panel Association’s monthly Industry Snapshot Report.

Particleboard shipments increased nearly 5.4% to 286 million ft² from 272 million ft² in January 2017. MDF shipments rose 5.1% to 201 million ft², compared to 192 million ft² the same month one year ago.
