Noah’s Ark brought back to life
25 August 2016Accoya, the modified wood produced by Accsys Technologies, has been specified for the cladding of a giant replica of Noah’s Ark in Williamstown, Kentucky in the US.
Answers in Genesis (AiG) is the organisation funding the one-of-a-kind attraction, Ark Encounter, for the purpose of presenting a number of biblical events on a full-size, all-wood Ark.
Officially opened in July, Ark Encounter is one of the largest ‘green’ construction projects in the US.
The architects, engineers, and construction managers work for Troyer Group, One Source, a company charged with the management of sustainable building projects in the US.
The Troyer Group specified up to 400m3 of Accoya to act as cladding foe the ark’s timber frame.
