The Composite Panel Association (CPA) has made available the revised ANSI A208.2-2016 MDF for Interior Applications and ANSI A208.1-2016 Particleboard Standards, superseding the 2009 versions.

Specific changes are delineated in the Foreword of each respective Standard. The most significant change common to both Standards is the deletion of formaldehyde emission limits above CARB Phase 2.

CPA is the Standard Development Organization (SDO) managing consensus for these Standards by use of a canvass body representing a balance of producers, users, and general interest groups in accordance with the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) Essential Requirements for Due Process. Final approval of the Standard was granted by ANSI's Board of Standards Review on May 12, 2016.

CPA will submit code change proposals to have these new versions recognised by US and Canadian building codes.
CPA Regional Grademark Managers and Technical Representatives will work with client mills to ensure a timely transition to these updated Standards. www.CompositePanel.org
