Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP) is unlikely to reopen its Clarke County, Alabama, OSB mill until late 2010 at the earliest, reports Forestweb.

The company’s director of OSB Jamey Barnes gave a timeframe to Clarke County commissioners in early December of late 2010 or some time during 2011. An LP spokesperson said Mr Barnes reports to Clarke County on a quarterly basis.

LP started up the 750 million ft2/year Thomasville OSB mill in March 2008, but closed it following an explosion two months later and has remained closed because of the continuing poor state of North American OSB markets.
