Joint development between BASF and Finsa

BASF and Finsa have joined forces to develop a weight-reduced wood based panel. The product was presented at German ZOW in February and it weighs up to 30% less compared to conventional board and combines Finsa’s Superpan technology with BASF’s Kaurit Light technology.

The market launch of the product branded Superpan Star is planned shortly.

Siro Gómez, head of marketing, Finsa Spain, says the material combines the benefits of both MDF and particleboard.
