Leading provider of advanced manufacturing equipment, Stiles Machinery Inc, recently attended the construction ceremony for the new Weeke North America (WNA) facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

This new 100,000ft2 facility will be just north of WNA's current location in Grand Rapids and Robert W Grooters Development Company will oversee the project which is expected to finish early this winter.

WNA produces the Weeke Vantech line of CNC routers and the ABD CNC drilling and dowel machines and is currently situated in a 30,000ft2 building within the same business park where the new facility will be erected.

The new space is designed for efficient material flow from the rear of the plant to the front utilising overhead cranes to help move and position the heavy equipment through the production line, and allowing additional room for expanded assembly stations.

Weeke North America was established in 2009 as a joint venture between the Homag Group, Stiles and Weeke Maschinenbau, a subsidiary of the Homag Group. Stiles has been an exclusive distributor in the US for almost 30 years.

Now celebrating its 50th anniversary Stiles offers a "Total Productions Solutions" approach by also offering equipment integration, financial services, education, service and parts.
