Three Brazilian plywood producers have joined forces in a commercial alliance to strengthen their position in a dramatically changing global marketplace.
Industria de Compensados Sudati Ltda and Industria de Compensados Guararapes Ltda, both of Palmas in Parana state together with Conguasul Industria de Placas Ltda of Contenda also in Parana, have formed a combined sales division.
The firms claim their partnership creates the largest trader of plywood in South America.
In a joint statement they explained their move was made “in the light of drastic changes in global conditions and (the) concentration of markets by large exporters and buying groups”.
The manufacturers, located in the south of Brazil, said they aim to boost their position to “negotiate rates, streamline logistics costs, marketing and sales, and eliminate speculative market factors”.
Guararapes managers will handle markets in North and Central America, as well as Middle East, Turkey and Oceania while Sudati personnel will be responsible for European and South American markets.
