Deal for world's longest ContiRoll
Published:  29 May, 2007

Siempelkamp held a contract signing ceremony at Ligna completing the sale of its 200th ContiRoll continuous press.

At 77m long and 9ft wide, this will also be the longest continuous press in the world when it is installed in the Botucatu mill of Brazilian company Duratex of São Paolo.

The line is due to start production of MDF in early 2009.

Duratex also ordered a flash tube dryer from Siempelkamp subsidiary Büttner, and handling, sanding, cut-to-size and packaging through Siempelkamp Handling Systeme (SHS) as well as a short-cycle press line.

Signatories to the contract were: For Duratex, Mario Colombelli Filho and president Paulo Setubal Neto; for Siempelkamp, Dr H C Dieter Siempelkamp and Dr Hans W Fechner.

Duratex, the biggest wood products manufacturer in South America, has been a customer of Siempelkamp since 1952 and today has two Siempelkamp MDF and one particleboard ContiRoll lines.
