Uniboard, a leading producer of engineered wood products in North America, has been approved as a manufacturer of Ultra Low Emission Formaldehyde (ULEF) particleboard by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Uniboard's use of ULEF resin in the production of NU Green has earned the company an exemption from the requirements of section 93120.3(b) of the Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products.
Lise Plante, product manager of Panel Business Unit, says that NU Green is manufactured using 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fibre, and adds that through this exemption, it is also recognised as complying with CARB Phase 2, the world's most stringent emission standards.
