Published:  04 February, 2010

The wood processing plant of Holzwek Gebr Schneider GmbH based in Eberhardzell, Germany, recently began construction of a new plant at the company’s headquarters.

Dieffenbacher is supplying the complete production line and the system has been designed to allow both flexible and pressure-resistant wood fibre panels to be produced without any modification of conversion work. The plant is configured to operate with a total annual output of both products of about 250,000m2.

According to the company, the investment will amount to about €30m from which approximately €5m will be spend for the building and other civil cost.

Installation of the systems is due to start in May, and the plant is expected to start production in December 2010. Production is to be ramped up in line with demand with three-shift working being used.

Back in December 2009, Schneider and Dieffenbacher signed a supply contract for the main plant components.
