Published: 12 November, 2009
Austrian wood-based panels manufacturer Egger is reported to be considering the construction of an OSB mill in Borisov, near Minsk, in Belarus.
According to Euwid Wood Products and Panels magazine, since commissioning new particleboard works in Radauti, Romania, at the end of 2007, Egger has indicated an interest in setting up other sites in Eastern Europe.
It has said that investments similar to the one in Belarus were also possible in other Eastern European countries, and the company is considering at least three shortlisted projects.
Egger’s product range includes particleboard, MDF and OSB as well as added-value products.
